Genocide suspect arrested working for Gabon President

Kigali: Interpol detectives on Monday arrested a Genocide suspect accused among many crimes of teaching the Interahamwe militia how to rape Tutsi women without contracting HIV/Aids – as part of the Tutsi Genocide.

Dr. Rindabahizi Jean Chrysostome was reportedly working in the office of Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba.

The prosecution department announced Tuesday evening that Dr. Rindabahizi was arrested by Interpol agents on a warrant submitted early last year.

Available evidence shows that Dr. Rindabahizi was dubbed “Doctor” because of the techniques he provided for the Genocide militias in Southern Rwanda. He is said to have provided condoms for the interahamwe for raping Tutsi women.

He also allegedly gave tips to the rampaging militia on how best they could rape Tutsi women so they do not contract HIV/Aids.

In Cyarwa, an area in Huye, Dr. Rindabahizi allegedly collected militias to hunt for eight women who were subsequently killed in a church where they were hiding.

He is not the only one arrested in Gabon so far. In September 2005, Joseph Serugendo – a former technical director of the Radio-télévision libre des Mille collines (RTLM) was nabbed.

It is not clear if Dr. Rindabahizi will be handed to Rwanda or the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
